Post the introduction of DLT, there has been a set of procedures that needs to follow before any SMS is scheduled for delivery. As a lot of parties (Client, DLT, Vendor, Operator etc.) are involved in facilitating and verification of each SMS that is sent, it becomes absolutely essential that we follow all requisite procedures for configuring SMS templates for New and Existing accounts. To avoid any lapse(s), following checklist may be referred to.

(Entity ID is a 19-digit numerical string unique for each entity, under which templates and headers are registered). In NPF, the Entity ID has to be configured by using the following below path :
Settings > Communication > SMS > Sender ID Config > Domestic
Step 4: Configure Sender ID on NoPaperForms
A Sender ID is a unique name or standard mobile number that shows in the “from” field of your text messages on your phone.
Sender ID has to be configured by using the following path
For Transactional Sender IDs
Settings > Communication > SMS > Domestic > Transactional Sender IDs
For OTP Sender ID
Settings > Communication > SMS > Domestic > Sender ID for OTP
For Promotional Sender IDs
Settings > Communication > SMS > Domestic > Promotional Sender IDs

Step 5: Configure SMS Template
Configuring SMS Template: SMS Template should be configured only when the above three steps have been completed.
5.1 For Custom(Not System Generated) SMS Template:
To configure SMS Templates follow the below steps :
5.2 For System Generated SMS Template:
To configure SMS Templates follow the below steps :
Step 6: Domain Shortening
In case a URL has been approved as a static value by the DLT, make sure to exclude the domains by configuring the same using the following path:
Settings > Communication >SMS > Domain Shortener > Domain to be excluded
Use Case :
For e.g. if the template approved is : Dear #{var}# , Login on abcuniversity.com to book webinar. The timings for the webinar is #{var}# on #{var}#. -ABC University
Here we can see that the URL i.e. abcuniversity.com has been approved as a part of the content (static) and not as a variable, therefore the domain ‘abcuniversity.com’ will have to be excluded from Domain Shortening.
Step 7: Enable the template
By default, a SMS Template once created is 'Enabled' until intentionally disabled. You may cross verify the status by using the following path
Template Manager > Manage Communication Template
Step 8: Enable the template Mark as DLT Approved
Once you have configured and enabled the SMS Template, you need to mark the template as DLT Approved by using the following path
Template Manager > Manage Communication Template > Select the Template > Click on Action Button (Gear Icon) > Mark as DLT Approved
Step 9: Send Test SMS
Once you are done with the above steps, you may check the SMS delivery by sending a test SMS.
In case you did not receive the message, it may be due to any of these errors.
Note : *Kaleyra Account and Solutions Infini Account are one and the same thing and have been used interchangeably in this checklist.
