The Cooling Period is a newly introduced configuration in the Manage Exam Configuration module. It defines the waiting time before the Main Attempt, Reschedule, and Retake exam buttons become visible to students, even after the required trigger condition has been met.
By setting a cooling period, you can control the minimum duration a student must wait after passing the designated trigger before accessing the next attempt, ensuring a structured and systematic exam process.
You can set a cooling period separately for:
Main Attempt – First attempt for the exam.
Reschedule – Re-attempt due to scheduling conflicts.
Retake – Additional attempt after the initial attempt.
Once the cooling period is configured, the exam buttons (Main Attempt, Reschedule, and Retake) remain hidden even after the trigger condition is met. The button becomes visible only after the specified cooling period has elapsed.
If the payment trigger is configured for Reschedule or Retake, the cooling period applies to the Payment Button and not the Take Exam button.

Go to Manage Exam Configuration in the Meritto CRM.
Choose an existing exam configuration or create a new one.

Once the cooling period is configured:
Main Attempt:
Button remains hidden for the defined duration after the trigger condition (e.g., payment approval).
Reschedule and Retake:
Same process applies, with the configured waiting time ensuring controlled button visibility.
Important Note: If payment triggers are configured for Reschedule and Retake, the cooling period applies to the Payment Button and not the Take Exam button. The Cooling Period functionality in Meritto’s Manage Exam Configuration adds an extra layer of control by delaying button visibility after meeting trigger conditions. By defining the cooling period duration, you can prevent premature attempts and ensure a more organized and secure exam process.
Configuring a cooling period for Main, Reschedule, and Retake attempts helps you maintain consistency in exam workflows while giving students adequate time before attempting the exam. As a result, exam management becomes more efficient, structured, and aligned with your institutional objectives.
By utilizing the Cooling Period, you can enhance exam control and ensure a streamlined exam process.
