How to create a Discount Coupon?
Overview
Discount coupons provide rebates on payments made by students. Institutes can choose to apply these coupons to specific forms or all forms. They can also be used for college events. This guide walks you through the process of creating discount coupons in Meritto.
Plan & Permissions
Ensure you have the necessary permissions to access the Payment Manager module in Meritto.
Step-by-Step Guide to Create a Discount Coupon
Navigating to Discount Coupon Creation
Go to Payment Manager > Create Discount.
Select your Institute (if not already selected).
If no specific form is selected, the coupon will be applicable to all forms of the institute.
To create form-specific discount coupons, select the desired form.
Configuring Discount Coupon Details
Enter a Coupon Campaign Name to identify the coupon batch.
Select the Method of Coupon Generation:
Import Coupon Codes: Upload a .csv file containing predefined coupon codes.
The file should contain two columns: Coupon Codes and Status.
The Status column accepts two values:
0 - Inactive coupon code
1 - Active usable coupon code
Now, select the nature of Discount -
Percentage/Fixed Amount
Type the Discount value.
Create Discount Coupons: Generate unique coupon codes by specifying:

Defining Discount Parameters
Choose Coupon Usage:
Single Use
Multiple Use
Set the Expiry Date
If set to 1st Jan, the coupon remains valid until 31st Dec, 11:59 PM.
(Optional) Set a Goal for the Coupon:
Define the Number of Applications that can use this coupon.
Set a Goal Buffer for safeguard.
Example: If Total Applications = 200 and Goal Buffer = 100, only the first 100 coupons will be valid.
Click Save to successfully create the discount coupon(s).
Viewing and Managing Discount Coupons
Viewing Coupons
Navigate to Payment Manager > Manage Discounts in sidebar.
Select your College Name from the Filter option on top-right corner of page and click Apply.
All the coupons created under the institute will be displayed.
Managing Coupons
Coupon Details - Provides all the necessary details of the coupon (Form mapped with, Coupon code, status etc)
Download Coupons - Download coupon codes in a csv file
Disable Coupons - Disable/Enable the coupon code.
Edit Coupons
Use the Settings Cog Icon next to the form to access these options.
Points to Keep in Mind
Coupon names must be unique across the system.
Example: If "INSTITUTE123" (50% discount) exists, "Institute123" (75% discount) cannot be created.
The system does not differentiate between uppercase and lowercase letters when checking for duplicates.
