Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a tag management system that enables you to deploy and manage multiple tracking scripts from a centralized container, eliminating the need for direct code modifications on your website. It acts as a central container where you can control multiple tags, such as analytics, remarketing, and conversion tracking.
Log in to your Google Tag Manager account.
In the Admin section, select the Container associated with your website or application.
Under the Container section, copy the GTM Code (format: GTM-XXXXXX).
Access Settings
Log in to your Meritto account.
Navigate to the Settings section from the main menu.
Navigate to Campaign Tracking
Within Settings, locate and select Campaign Tracking.
Open Google Tag Manager Configuration
Click on Google Tag Manager under the Campaign Tracking settings.
Insert GTM Code
Locate the GTM Auth Key field.
Paste the copied GTM Code into the field.
Save Configuration
Click Save to finalize the setup.
Your GTM Code will be successfully linked to Meritto, allowing you to manage tracking codes through Google Tag Manager.
Incorrect GTM Code Entry: Ensure the GTM-XXXXXX code is copied exactly from your GTM account.
GTM Not Working: Confirm that GTM is published and correctly configured in Google Tag Manager.
Once configured, the GTM Code enables seamless tracking code management through Google Tag Manager. Only one GTM Code can be set up per institute, but it can be used across multiple pages as needed. To explore the next topic, click on: All about Data Layer and Ajax Listener
