How to Initiate a Call Using App Telephony via Mobile Application?

This article will help you understand how to place a call using the App Telephony feature directly through the Meritto Android mobile app. Once the required permissions are in place, you can initiate calls from the Lead Listing, Application Listing, or Opportunity Listing screens. All call activity is automatically tracked, with no need to open individual profiles.

To use App Telephony via the Meritto mobile app, your institution must have purchased the Mobile App Telephony add-on.
Permissions
Enable Mobile App Access
Once the Mobile App Access is enabled at the plan level by the Meritto team, the Enable Mobile App Access permission becomes available, allowing users to access the mobile app.
User-Level Permissions
Admins must assign access to users through permission groups:
Go to: User Access Control > Manage Users.
Click on the user's name and navigate to the Mobile Application Information tab.
Enable the Enable App Telephony toggle to activate App Telephony calling for that user.
If calling from the web is also required, the Mobile App Telephony - Web permission should also be enabled.
Account Access Requirement: A user must have access to only one account to use Mobile App Telephony. If a user has access to multiple accounts, they will not be able to use this feature.
Steps to Initiate Calling via Mobile
Step 1: Log in to the Meritto Android App
Make sure you are logged into the Meritto Android app using a valid user account and a stable internet connection.
Step 2: Locate the Call Icon in a Listing
Go to the Lead Listing, Application Listing, or Opportunity Listing section. You will see the call icon next to each record, based on your permissions.
Step 3: Tap the Call Icon
Tap the icon next to the record you want to call, the call will be placed directly using your phone’s dialer.
Step 4: Call Is Placed and Tracked
After the call ends, it is automatically logged and visible in the record's timeline and productivity reports.
Note: All call types including inbound, outbound, missed, and answered calls are automatically logged for productivity tracking and reporting.
Points to Keep in Mind
Ensure Permissions Are Enabled in the App Users must enable essential permissions in the Meritto Android app, including Call Tracking and Push Notifications. Without these, the system will not sync call data properly.
App Should Remain Active The mobile app should not be force-closed. It must remain open or running in the background. If the app is closed, the call trigger may not work.
International Numbers Are Not Supported Regardless of where the call is initiated, whether from the Lead Listing, Application Listing, Applicant Profile, Opportunity Listing, or Opportunity Profile, all calling activity is synced to the Lead Timeline. This ensures a complete and centralized record of all call interactions against the lead.
