How to Initiate a Call Using App Telephony via Mobile Application?
Overview
This article will help you understand how to place a call using the App Telephony feature directly through the Meritto Android mobile app. Once the required permissions are in place, you can initiate calls from the Lead Listing, Application Listing, or Opportunity Listing screens. All call activity is automatically tracked, with no need to open individual profiles.

Plan & Package
To use App Telephony via the Meritto mobile app, ensure the following:
Your institution must have purchased the App Telephony add-on.
After purchase, Mobile App Click to Call is enabled in your Plan & Package settings.
Permissions
In-App Calling via App (Plan-Level Permission) Once Mobile App Click to Call is enabled, the permission for In-App Calling via App becomes available. This permission is enabled by the Meritto team.
Feature Enablement (Settings-Level) After permissions are active, the Meritto team enables the feature under: Mobile Application > In-App Calling > Enable In-App Calling This setting is turned on by default for all accounts where In-App Calling is included.
User-Level Permissions
Admins must assign access to users through permission groups:
Go to: User Access Control > Manage Permissions > Choose Permission Group
In the Mobile App section, you will find:
In-App Calling via App
If only In-App Calling via App is enabled, users in that group can place calls only through the Meritto Android app. If calling from the web is also needed, the In-App Calling via Web permission should also be selected.
Steps to Initiate Calling via Mobile
Step 1: Log in to the Meritto Android App
Make sure you are logged into the Meritto Android app using a valid user account and a stable internet connection.
Step 2: Locate the Call Icon in a Listing
Go to the Lead Listing, Application Listing, or Opportunity Listing section. You will see the call icon next to each record, based on your permissions.
Step 3: Tap the Call Icon
Tap the icon, the call will be placed directly using your phone’s dialer.
Step 4: Call Is Placed and Tracked
After the call ends, it is automatically logged and visible in the record's timeline and productivity reports.
Note: All call types—inbound, outbound, missed, answered—are automatically logged for productivity tracking and reporting.
Points to Keep in Mind
Ensure Permissions Are Enabled in the App Users must enable essential permissions in the Meritto Android app. These include Call Tracking and Push Notifications. Without these, the system will not sync call data properly.
App Should Remain Active The mobile app should not be force-closed. It must remain open or running in the background. If the app is closed, the call trigger may not work.
International Numbers Are Not Supported App Telephony does not support international mobile numbers. Attempts to dial such numbers may fail.
