Objective

This article explains the process for clients to register on the DigiLocker Partner Portal and generate API keys required to enable DigiLocker functionality in the Meritto portal.

Background

The DigiLocker team has introduced a limit of 1000 API key generations per account. Due to this restriction, new API keys can no longer be generated from the existing Meritto DigiLocker account.

Way Ahead

Clients must register themselves as a partner on the DigiLocker portal and generate API keys using their own account. These keys can then be configured in the Meritto portal to continue using DigiLocker functionality.

Prerequisites

• Active mobile number linked with DigiLocker

• Official organization email ID

• Organization details (address, website, use case)

Steps to Register on DigiLocker Partner Portal

Step 1: Access the DigiLocker Partner Portal

Click on “DigiLocker MeriPehchan” to proceed.

Step 2: Sign In or Sign Up

• If already registered:

  • Enter your registered mobile number and PIN

  • Check the “I consent to terms of use” checkbox

  • Click Sign In

• If not registered:

  • Click on Sign Up

  • Register using your mobile number

  • Set a PIN and then sign in using the same credentials

Step 3: Provide Personal Information

After signing in, click Allow on the consent page and fill in the following details:

• Name: User’s full name

• Want to become: Select Consumer

• Organization Name: Your organization’s name

• Designation: Your role/designation

• Mobile Number: Registered mobile number

• Official Email: Organization email ID

Click Submit to proceed.

Step 4: Enter Organization Details

Fill in the organization-related information:

• Organization Type: Type of organization

• State: State where the organization is established

• District: District of establishment

• Pin Code: Organization’s pin code

• Website URL: Official website

• Specific Use Case: Purpose for using DigiLocker

• About the Organization: Brief description of your organization and its services

Submit the form once all details are completed.

Step 5: Verification by DigiLocker Team

• The DigiLocker team will review the submitted details

• Once approved, login credentials will be shared on the registered email ID

Step 6: Generate API Keys

1. Log in to the DigiLocker Partner Admin Portal:

2. Navigate to the API key section

3. Click on Generate New Key to create API credentials

Configuring API Keys in Meritto

• Use the generated API keys in the Extension page of the Meritto portal

• Once configured, DigiLocker functionality will be enabled and ready for use

• API key generation and usage limits are governed by DigiLocker policies

• Meritto does not control key limits or approvals

• Clients are responsible for managing their DigiLocker credentials securely
