How To Create Fields in Opportunity?

Introduction

The Fields tab on the Opportunity listing page allows you to centrally create and manage opportunity fields. Once created, these fields can be associated with multiple opportunity lists, eliminating redundancy and significantly reducing setup time.

Types of field in opportunity

There are two types of fields available in the Opportunity module:

Logic Fields
These are  fields used in logical configurations within opportunity lists, typically registration fields used in the opportunity logic .
Notes
Note: Logic fields cannot be edited or deleted.

Dynamic Fields
These are custom fields configured specifically for opportunities and actively used within them.
Notes
Note: Dynamic fields can be edited and deleted as needed.

How To Create Fields in Opportunity?

  1. Navigate to the Opportunity module.
  2. Click on the Fields tab.
  3. Select “+ New Field” from the top-right corner.
  4. Enter the Field Name, Label, and select the appropriate Field Type.
  5. Define the Field Attributes as per your requirements.
  6. Click on the Submit button.
Once submitted, the new field will appear in the Fields listing page and can be associated across opportunity lists.

How to associate this field in the opportunity list ? 

To associate a centrally created field with a specific opportunity list, follow these steps during the Opportunity List Creation process:
  1. Navigate to Opportunity List Creation
  2. Click on Create from Listing → Proceed to Step 1 → Then move to Step2
  3. In Step 2, click the “Associate Field” button.
  4. Select the Field from the dropdown, (  choose the centrally created field you want to associate with the list.)
  5. Configure List-Specific Attributes
  6. Click on Save 
Notes
Note: Attributes configured at the central level cannot be modified at the list level.

  1. Navigate to Application Manager.
  2. Select "Create Admin Fields."
  3. Specify Field Name, Label, and Type.
  4. Declare Fields’ Attributes.
  5. Proceed to Post Application.
  6. Navigate to Workflow Automation.
  7. Establish Automation Workflow for Scoring or Post Application.
  8. Configure Logic based on requirements.
Notes
Note: Admin Fields created will be visible in Application Manager.

Conclusion

Centrally managing fields in the Opportunity module reduces redundancy, saves setup time, and ensures accurate data. Logic fields maintain consistency, while dynamic fields offer flexibility for customization and streamlined workflows.
