Overview

The Stop Transactional SMS feature enhances SMS configuration settings by introducing better control over communication management. Effective February 20, 2025, this update ensures seamless SMS handling by automatically pausing services when credit balances reach zero and providing proactive notifications for credit consumption. These changes help prevent unexpected service disruptions and maintain continuous message delivery, ensuring a more precise configuration of transactional messaging. 

Core Functionalities

  1. Stop Transactional SMS Configuration
    1. Automatic Pause on Zero Balance:
      All transactional and promotional messages, including OTPs, payment confirmations, and login credentials, are automatically paused when the SMS credit balance reaches zero, preventing unintended message delivery failures.
      1. Error Code: Connect with Organization - 4021 (Indicates zero or negative balance).
    2. Manual Pausing:
      You can manually stop transactional SMS through the "Stop Transactional SMS" option in the SMS control section for greater control over SMS allocation and usage.

  2. Proactive SMS Credit Balance Alerts

    1. Automatic Notifications:
      Get notified when SMS credits reach predefined thresholds, ensuring continuous monitoring and better management of SMS usage.
    2. Customizable Alert Thresholds:
      Configure notifications for various credit levels such as:
      1. A specific percentage of SMS credits is consumed (e.g., 50%, 70%, 90%, and 100%).
      2. Fixed Credit Limit Alerts: Set alerts when the balance falls below a defined amount (e.g., 5,000 credits).
    3. ✅ Note:  These alerts allow proactive credit management, preventing unexpected depletion and helping to  maintain uninterrupted SMS services.

  3. Easy Management of SMS Settings
    1. Pause or Resume SMS Anytime:
      Manually pause transactional SMS directly from the Communication & Account Setup page.
    2. Configure Alert Settings:
      Set and adjust SMS credit alert thresholds for proactive balance monitoring and seamless service continuity.
