Step-by-Step Guide to Check SMS Delivery Statuses

Accessing SMS Communication Reports

  1. Navigate to Marketing > Communication Performance:

    • Alternatively, In the menu search, type and select "Communication Performance."

  2. Filter by SMS:

    • Locate Job IDs to view different communication logs.

    • Click the filter button (top-right corner) and select SMS under "Medium of Communication."

  3. View SMS Logs:

    • Click on the Job ID for detailed SMS communication logs.

    • Navigate to "SMS Stats" to see the SMS delivery summary.

  4. Check SMS Status Descriptions:

    • Hover over a status to see a detailed description.

    • Use filters to view SMS logs based on specific delivery statuses.

Understanding SMS Statuses in Meritto

SMS reports in Meritto classify messages into the following categories:

  • Sent
    • All SMS successfully sent from Meritto.

  • Delivered
    • SMS was successfully delivered to the recipient’s handset.
    • Delivery Rate: Percentage of SMS delivered out of total sent.

  • Clicked
    • Tracks the number of users who clicked on a link within the SMS.
    • Click Rate: Percentage of delivered messages that were clicked.
    • Note: Click tracking works when using Meritto’s URL shortener.

  • Absent Subscriber
    • The number of communications failed due to the phone being switched off, due to the phone being out of coverage. Telecom services not providing service for a particular number.
    • Resolution: Confirm the receiver’s number.
    • The Absent Subscriber percentage indicates out of sent SMS how many SMS fall into this category.

  • Invalid Subscriber
    • The number of communications failed due to the wrong mobile number.
    • Resolution: Confirm the receiver’s number.
    • The Invalid Subscriber percentage indicates out of sent SMS how many SMS fall into this category.

  • DND (Do Not Disturb)
    • Total Number of SMS not delivered due to NDNC rejected or DND.
    • The DND percentage indicates out of sent SMS how many SMS failed because the number was registered under DND.
