How to Import Leads?

Overview

Meritto CRM allows you to import/create new leads manually - both individually or in bulk using email, mobile number, or both. You can validate fields, assign leads, and update existing records during the import process. 

How to Upload Single Leads?
Uploading Leads using Email Or Mobile Number:
  1. Navigate to Leads Manager > Manage Leads.
  2. Click the Import icon   and select “Add Quick Lead".
  3. A pop-up Quick Lead Form appears where you can upload the lead via email or Mobile.
    1. Choose email to add both email and mobile as primary identifiers
    2. Choose mobile to upload lead for mobile as a primary identifier
  4. There are a few mandatory fields and Optional fields that can be filled as per the available information for the lead. (Check how to configure what fields to add here in this article: “Configuring Registration Field”.)



  5. Click Save  button to validate and import the lead. Use "Save and Add New button to continue adding leads without exiting the form.

Note: Make sure you have the permission to Create/Add lead.

How to Upload Bulk Leads?

Uploading Leads using Email & Mobile Number:
  1. Navigate to Leads Manager > Manage Leads.
  2. Click the Import icon  and select “Bulk Offline Lead".



  3. You will be redirected to User Guidelines for Upload Page. Select Primary Upload Type as “Email/Phone/User ID(Updates Only)”.
  4. The files to be imported must be in CSV(comma-separated values) format.  You can download the sample data for your reference.
  5. You can also download the pre-defined list to what type of values should be added in the CSV list.



  6. Click on  button for uploading the file.
  7. You can either use “Add new leads” or “Add new and updated existing leads”  in the upload type section.
  8. Add new leads’ allows you to upload new leads present in the CSV file to the CRM.
  9. Add new and updated existing leads’ allows you to import new leads and update the information on the existing leads present in the CRM.
  10. All the leads can also be assigned to a single counsellor by selecting his/her name in the username section.



  11. You can upload your file and click on the  button. The data will be synced and visible to you on your lead listing page.

Best Practices while uploading offline logs

  1. The name should contain only alphabets (apostrophes and Full stops are acceptable).
  2. The email should have a valid domain.
  3. All dropdown fields must align with the master data or its custom drop-down list made under the field configuration.
  4. A child field can only be uploaded along with its corresponding parent field (e.g., a city can be uploaded only if a valid state is provided; a city alone cannot be uploaded).
  5. Character length must adhere to the field configuration.
  6. The date field should follow the specified format as per field configuration.
  7. Lead source, medium, and campaign should be available under the "offline" tag.
  8. The Mobile and country codes should be uploaded separately.
