Overview

Token Fee configuration in Meritto allows institutions to collect an initial payment from applicants before proceeding with further steps. This article provides a step-by-step guide to setting up a Token Fee in Meritto.

Plan & Permissions

Ensure the following prerequisites are met before configuring Token Fee:

  • Form Requirement: A disabled form field with binary values (Yes/No) must be present for Token Payment segregation.

  • Communication Templates:

    • For Cash Payment:

      • Cash Acknowledgment Email Template

      • Cash Acknowledgment SMS Template

      • Cash Approval Email Template

      • Cash Approval SMS Template

    • For Online Payment:

      • Online Email Template

      • Online SMS Template

    • Acknowledgment Receipt Template (Visible in the applicant's dashboard post-payment approval)

      NotesNote: All the above communication templates will be applicable for Payments only and will be Transactional in nature.

Step-by-Step Guide to Configure Token Fee

Configure Fee Manager

  1. Navigate to Settings > Institute Configuration > Fee Manager.

  1. Click on Configure Fees in the top-right corner.

  2. A new configuration page will open.

  3. Select the required Institute and Form.

  4. Choose the necessary Payment Type.

  5. Enter an appropriate Token Fee Alias Name (e.g., "Pay First Installment"). This alias will appear as a button on the applicant’s dashboard.

  6. Select the available payment options:

Configure Cash Payment

  1. Fill in the Cash Alias (e.g., Cheque, DD, Cash Payment at Institute).

  2. In Cash Related Information, provide payment instructions for applicants.

  3. Select the appropriate Cash Email and SMS Templates:

    • Cash Email/SMS Template: Sent upon payment submission.

    • On Cash Approval Email/SMS Template: Sent when the institute approves payment.

Configure Online Payment

  1. Select the Payment Gateway.

  2. Choose the required Online Email and SMS Templates:

    • These communications are sent after payment approval.

  3. If using a hybrid payment gateway, select "Yes" under "Is this Hybrid CCAvenue".

  4. Set the Payment Start Date and Payment End Date using the calendar.

Configure Segregation Criteria

  1. In Select Form Field, choose the field used for segregation.

  2. Select the Form Field Value for which Token Fee payment should be enabled.

  3. If the Enable Fee for Payment Approved Only checkbox is selected, only applicants with approved payments can proceed.

Additional Configurations

  1. Select the Acknowledgment Receipt Template to display in the applicant's dashboard.

  2. If required, enter Token Fee Instructions using the formatting tools.

  3. Define the Fee Break-up.

  4. Click Save Payment Settings to save the configuration.

Enable Token Fee in Applicant Flow Configuration

  1. Navigate to Settings > Institute Configuration > Applicant Flow Configuration.

  2. Select the Institute and click Search.

  3. Under Step 2: Configure Application Attributes, locate the ‘Pay Fee’ Application Attribute.

  4. Check the box next to Pay Fee Application Attribute.

  5. If no Token Fee Alias was assigned earlier, enter the Fee Type to display on the applicant’s dashboard.

  6. Define the position where this option should appear.

  7. Click Save to enable the Token Fee.
